A longstanding project of Joel and Karen (Maria and the Morekeys), TransPositions explores the highly-gendered nature of lyric coloratura operatic writing through transposition into the male vocal register.
The audience experiences the wonder of technical prowess in performance, and explores their own perceptions of gender in musical form, phrasing and subject matter.
